Brighton

This neighborhood is one of the oldest in Monroe County and has evolved into an upscale suburban residential area. Brighton is bordered by the city of Rochester and the town of Irondequoit northwest, the town of Henrietta to the south, the Genesee River to the west, and the towns of Pittsford and Penfield to the east.  The Erie Canal courses through Brighton, accompanied by the acclaimed Erie Canal Heritage Trail, one of the longest continuous stretches of maintained off-road trail in the United States.  Other key commercial strips include the northern end of West Henrietta Road and parts of South Winton Road. The Twelve Corners, where Monroe Avenue, South Winton Road and Elmwood Avenue intersect, is a busy commercial and civic center.

When choosing this neighborhood keep in mind its close proximity to R.I.T. and U of R, and that it is a perfect blend of urban sophistication and suburban comfort.  When traveling by car your commute to either University should be only five to ten minutes.
